While searching for my career path as an undergrad, I was drawn to Itron for its purpose of creating a more resourceful world and enthralled by the company’s dedication to its customers and employees.

Beginning my journey as an intern in the summer of 2019, I joined the Service Business team and developed a passion for learning about Itron’s solutions and customers. My team members welcomed me to Itron and advocated for my continued success and growth throughout my internship. During my time as an intern, I learned that Itron’s culture is highly innovative and collaborative, while maintaining a healthy, supportive environment to foster employees’ personal and professional growth. As the summer ended, I knew Itron was the company I wanted to expand my career in, and I was determined to return.

With the approach of my graduation in the fall of 2021, I contacted the manager of the Service Business department and expressed my interest in returning to the team. I was elated when I received an email back about an opening for an account services associate. Leaving as an intern in 2019 and returning as an associate in 2022, I was thrilled to continue building on my work with the Service Business team and reconnect with customers.

Through my role as an associate, I quickly centered my focus on data analysis to effectively manage contracts while expanding my network and building my knowledge to better serve and support our customers. As I grew within my role, I faced new challenges, which brought new opportunities for process improvements and collaboration. After one year as an associate, through the support and recognition of my team, I was promoted to account services specialist where I continue to expand on my account management and leadership skills.

As I approach almost three years at Itron, I occasionally look back on my expectations coming into the company versus the position I’m in today, and I’m met with feelings of gratitude and admiration for my colleagues who have contributed to my growth and success. From being introduced to a career at Itron as an intern to fully immersing myself in my current role, I’ve discovered that Itron truly strives to do the right thing for both customers and employees. Being surrounded by teams who are passionate about their work, the opportunity for continued growth and development, and the pivotal focus on customer excellence excites me about my future with Itron.
